Dr. Wayne Gilmore
Dr. Gilmore has been practicing optometry in Parsons, since July 1, 1999. He was born and raised in Pittsburg, Kansas. He graduated from St. Mary's -Colgan High School in 1989, and Pittsburg State University with a degree in Biology in 1993.
After graduating from the University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Optometry in 1998, he began a one-year residency at the Kansas City Veteran's Hospital. The areas of emphasis of his residency were ocular disease, with special attention to glaucoma and low vision rehabilitation. He also received additional training in diabetic eye disease management.
A Fellow of the America Academy of Optometry, Dr. Gilmore enjoys seeing patients of all ages, with all eye problems. Contact lenses and vision therapy are two additional areas of interest for him.
When away from the office, Dr. Gilmore enjoys running, and can often be seen running through the streets of Parsons. Dr. Gilmore is married with twin sons, Luke and Zachary. His wife, Tracy is originally from Erie and is a pharmacist.
